Whether you’re new to crypto this year or a bonafide veteran, you’re probably welcoming a bit of extra crypto as part of your Hanukkah gelt (money) stack this holiday season. With big gains in 2021 across to board, and massive growth in crypto tech via the likes of the Metaverse, NFTs and DeFi, there are many interesting areas in this exciting new space to invest in. With 2021 coming to a record close, and 2022 positioned as another record year for the cryptocurrency industry, we explore the top eight ways to get some free or low-cost crypto this season.
Voyager is a crypto exchange app (expanding globally in 2022) for iOS and Android that enables users to trade 65+ of the most popular cryptocurrencies without paying a commission. It does this by connecting to over a dozen of the most trusted and secure crypto exchanges with the “Voyager Smart Order Router” to provide you with access to the largest crypto trading market. The app is safe, secure, and easy to use. The team is run by a team of financial and tech industry veterans. As of October, Voyager now offers a 5.75% interest on Bitcoin (BTC) , 12% for Polkadot (DOT) holdings and 9% interest on USDC (paid out monthly, no staking required). Sign up using this link will earn you $25 USD in free Bitcoin once you deposit your first $100 USD. If you’re not in a territory where Voyager is currently supported, be sure to sign up anyway as they continue to expand globally.
There seems to be a lot of value for customers to join Crypto.com. When you sign up, you will get $25 in CRO for free just for becoming a member. That is certainly incentive enough for most. Plus, when you sign up for a Crypto.com you have the opportunity to apply for one of their CRO VISA credit cards which offer crypto-back to your Crypto.com CRO wallet, and even earns you free crypto which can be held, or traded for Bitcoin or dozens of other popular cryptocurrencies. CRO is Crypto.com’s own cryptocurrency, which offers some very attractive staking rewards. Plus you can score free streaming services and other great rewards. This is easily one of the most exciting places for crypto (and easiest to remember).
Coinbase is one of the world’s leading Crypto exchanges, which recently IPOed earlier in 2021. If you are not yet a member of Coinbase, when you do sign up, you will receive $10 in Bitcoin when signing up and making your first $100 purchase. Coinbase has the excellent incentive for customer by letting them earn crypto for watching 2-3 minute tutorials and taking short and simple quizzes.
Once you deposit at least $0.01 into your account, Robinhood gives customers free stock. This could be worth up to $500. While getting a Tesla or Apple stock is very unlikely, it’s not entirely impossible. Most folks have said they’ve received stocks ranging in the $5-$50 value. Still, free is free and you can sell the stock after the probationary period and then use it to buy cryptocurrency or just add the cash right into your bank account.
Browser Mining is a fairly quick and easy way to begin earning Bitcoin. CryptoTab is a web browser built on Chromium (Google Chrome) and is a browser with a built-in bitcoin miner. According to CryptoTab, they are “the world’s first browser with a built-in mining function. With CryptoTab you earn cryptocurrency just by visiting your favorite sites, watching videos, and chatting online.” Once you open the browser and enable the built-in mining feature, you will start seeing the ticker go up after just a few minutes of running. The earning potential goes up for each computer you have running the CryptoTab browser. The mining process works by using your computer’s CPU, so be conscientious of your computer’s hardware utilization as well as electricity bill when running this browser for extended periods of time.
Binance is one of the top-leading cryptocurrency exchanges globally. Due to regulations in the United States, Binance shut their doors to US customers in 2019 and quickly reopened a new wing of their business, simply called Binance.US in early 2020. Binance.US provides the same user experience as Binance.com for customers in the United States, with a smaller (but growing) subset of cryptocurrencies available for trade. Binance, like the other exchanges listed above, is a leader when it comes to safety and security, offering customers with many ways to keep their crypto safe while using their exchange. They offer customers 20% on trade commission from their friends who sign up with their referral link. This can be rather lucrative when you gain a lot of referrals using your own link.
bitFlyer is a Japanese-based cryptocurrency exchange app founded in 2014. Back then, Bitcoin was still the only household name within the space. The app has since expanded to support Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. With all the steep competition in the exchange space, bitFlyer is offering a competitive $15 in Bitcoin for new customers who sign up and buy their first $100 in cryptocurrency. If you like a simple and no-hassle experience, this app is worth exploring.
If you’re already doing your regular shopping online, you’re likely already missing out on getting bitcoin for free, just for making your everyday purchases. Lolli is a cash-back browser extension that gives you bitcoin back for everyday purchases at 1000s of their partner retailers; many of which you probably already shop at. Leveraging the Lolli extension, you can activate anywhere from 1%-15%+ back on your purchases. Cash (Bitcoin) back appears right within your Lolli account once the purchase has been settled, and can be moved directly to your Bitcoin wallet.
